Rum Bum Drivers Seeking Another Top Five

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 5, 2008) - A solid top-five finish in the GAINSCO Grand Prix of Miami has Rum Bum Sigalsport drivers Gene Sigal and Matt Plumb ready for the Mexico City 250 in two weeks in Mexico City.

The team has run near the front of both races on the 2008 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 season. Plumb led the Rolex 24 At Daytona and ran third in the GAINSCO Grand Prix of Miami before falling to fifth at the checkered flag. With new primary sponsor Rum Bum aboard the No. 7 BMW Riley, the team hopes to contend for another victory at the 2.5-mile Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

Plumb will be making his first trip around the legendary track, while Sigal has competed there in the Rolex GT class in previous seasons.

"This will be my first race in Mexico City and my third Grand-Am Rolex Series Daytona Prototype race ever," Plumb said. "I heard Mexico was a great country to go racing in and there is so much history there. I am excited because we just finished fifth at the Grand Prix of Miami and we are getting the updated Dinan BMW engine for Mexico. Sigalsport qualified fourth last year and ran well there. Our goal is to run at the front of the pack."

Added Sigal: "I love Mexico City. I raced here in 2005 and almost won the race with our Sigalsport BMW M3 GT. I finished second, a few lengths behind Jan Magnussen. I always like to come to Mexico. I like the country and its traditions. The atmosphere is exciting and the fans love racing and that makes a big difference. I think we are going to be competitive in Mexico."
